Day 7 - CNN

The other half of our day was spent at CNN.

Immediately we arrived at CNN , we were given 15 dollars each from our group leader to get some food to eat. We were told to meet at a specific area by 1.20 so that we could go on a tour about CNN . Before we entered, we were body checked and bag checked before we were told to climb up the longest escalator in the world which led us to the place were we could take group pictures which was quite stressful because of the amount of people that wanted to be in front.

We were later taken into a replica recording room and told about the history of CNN and were showed how reporters read from the screen. We were also told about how meteorlogists could show you the weather. There would be a green screen and it would be changed to the weather forecast and they used their hands to show and tell you the weather forecast. After this place, we saw where they research on domestic news for America.

There were quite a lot of people working here. Later on we went into the real recording room and saw a Brook Baldwin  live on CNN and she waved  at us because she wasn't busy. We were told about the equipments that were used. There was a robo camera which was being controlled by someone using a joystick. We were then taken into HLN video studios which is a domestic news network. This is a sister to CNN. We saw video journalists with a lot of funky equipment we didn't know. We were told that you get a degree in Journalism and Communication , you could work in that specific area of CNN. After we finished looking at the video studio, www were taken into a cinema room and watched a 1 minute video on news around the world. We then entered the CNN store and bought souvenirs.
